State Farm talks a big game about being a national brand with strong support and a wide repair network — but it’s really just a patchwork of small local agents competing for your business with no meaningful support from the actual company. If you move? Problem. Move in with someone? Problem. Get divorced? Problem. I reached out mid may to resolve a simple insurance problem. My girlfriend moved in and we wanted to drop the dead weight of two different insurance payments. Since she had State Farm before all of a sudden no one can touch accounts. So for the past few months we have been paying two separate state farm bills instead of one. This costs us money every month the insurance company will never pay back. You’ll pay higher premiums for the illusion of access and convenience, only to get passed around and stuck with local reps who can’t or won’t help. It’s not worth the paper it’s printed on. You’re better off with GEICO or literally anyone else."
